Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - Cycling League Series (CLaS)

Registration Process:

1. Who is eligible to participate in CLaS?

CLaS is open to cyclists and State Sports Council teams (development program), both men and women. Ex Pro Cyclists and Ex National Cyclist, are not allowed to participate.

2. Can teams register for CLaS?

Yes, men’s teams can register with no more than 6 riders and no less than 4 riders per team for all race events.

3. Is a cycling licence required for participation? 

Riders are encouraged to have a cycling licence issued by any cycling federation. However, it is not mandatory for participation.

4. Can I apply for a cancellation/ transfer/ refund?

All CLaS tickets are final and non-refundable. Any cancellation/ transfer/refund requests will not be honoured.

5. What are the grounds for disqualification?

Any pro or ex-pro rider is found to be violating any of the CLaS Rules & Regulation, the whole team will be disqualified.

Event Rules and Regulations:

1. Are the UCI rules applicable to CLaS? 

Yes, CLaS is conducted according to the latest Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) rules & regulations and is sanctioned by the Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF).

2. Can riders file a protest? 

Yes, riders/teams can file a protest with evidence and a deposit of RM300. Objections must be made within 15 minutes after the unofficial decision.

3. What are the guidelines for feeding during the race? 

Feeding is allowed under specific circumstances from the Neutral Service vehicle. No static feeding is allowed along the race route.

4. How are race classifications determined? 

Race classifications include General Classification, Sprints Classification, King of Mountain (KOM) Classification, and Team Classification.

Race-Specific Regulations:

1. What types of race events are included in CLaS? 

CLaS includes Time Trial Race, Criterium Race, and Mass-Start Road Race.

2. Is there a time limit for finishing the race? 

Yes, there are time limits for finishing each race event, with variations based on race type and category.  Refer to the Finishing Time Limit under Rules & Regulation.

3. What is the significance of the bonuses given during the race?

Bonuses are awarded for time and points in various stages and classifications, contributing to overall rankings and jersey awards.

4. Are there awards for winners in each race classification? 

Yes, winners of each race classification, such as General Classification, Sprints Classification, and King of Mountain (KOM) Classification, receive prizes and may wear leader jerseys.

Awards Ceremony:

1. Who must attend the awards ceremony? 

Riders who finish in the top three of a race, leaders of various classifications, and top teams are required to attend the official awards ceremony.

2. When should winners attend the awards ceremony? 

Winners must present themselves at the podium within a maximum of 20 minutes after crossing the finish line.
